Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings
What You'll Need:
(Dumplings)
6 medium sized apples
2 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cups shortening
1/2 cup milk
(Sauce)
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups water
1/2 cups margarine
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Here's How:
1. Peel and core apples.
2. Sift flour, powder and salt together. Cut in the shortening.
7. Place dumplings 1 inch apart in a 9x13 dish.
8. For the sauce: Combine brown sugar, water and cinnamon. Heat in a saucepan for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the stick of margarine.Stir until melted and combined and pour over dumplings.
9. Bake at 350* for 45-50 minutes. Serve warm.
